It feels like it was just yesterday we were 15 year olds in secondary school. I still feel like I’m 15 when I’m with them! Soon they’ll be getting boyfriends and girlfriends and eventually getting married (which I realize isn’t so far away anymore). I only hope that I’ll always feel young when I’m with them. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend my birthday. I’m not one to throw big parties or rent a chalet (which I find pretty gross actually), all I need is good food, nice scenery and great company.

Valentine’s Day

Despite all the cynical theories about how Valentine’s day is just a money-making holiday that industries invent (which I sort of agree with it. $10 for a rose?) and that “every day should be Valentine’s day”, it’s still nice to receive a gift anyway. The school choir’s practice of singing song dedications to people in class was something I usually snort at, ironically one of the dedications was for me today. Even though I really hated that song (I really hate Bruno Mars’ music with a passion, but that’s a story for next time. Apparently there was only a grand selection of 4 songs to choose from anyway) and I was thoroughly embarrassed, I still smiled like an idiot. It’s nice to know that someone halfway around the world still cares for me. If only his Obolo macarons got through!

My valentine’s gift for him is no where near as elaborate as his was, so now I’m feeling a little guilty. But it’s the thought that counts right?

Missing people is very miserable business.
Then again, apathy and indifference is what everyone says is a lot worse than feeling miserable.
But when the person is not coming back for a long time, sometimes apathy is probably a better choice. If only it was a choice.

Some photos from the photography workshop we held. I’ve been too lazy (and busy) to post photos from my Europe trip! Especially since they’re already on Facebook.

The amount of work to do every semester seems more bewildering than the last. This has got to be the most intellectually-challenging period of my life, so much so that the occasional revelation make me feel so happy yet makes me feel pretty dumb most of the time. I just hope that I will survive the next two years of torturous school (and the subsequent 40 years of mundane work to come…)
