A New Location!

I decided to move from http://eatmyshorts.confutatis.org because I think it would be odd for a girl in her (going to be) twenties to be saying, “Oh my blog url is eatmyshorts.confutatis.org” when I’m asked, which I expect would elicit a response similar to “What…?” Plus I think I’ve definitely grown out of that me-against-the-world phase for quite a while now, I dare not read my archives (please don’t!) because they’re filled with embarrassing teenage angst (that’s not to say that I’ve grown out of the teenage socially awkward phase of which I think is probably stuck for life). Oh and I couldn’t change my blog layout in my old blog too, so the IT-dummy in me figured it would just be easier to move to another domain.

For the longest time I was trying to figure out where the “Leave a Comment” function was on the post for this layout, I realized that it’s the funny little symbol next to the date. So if you can’t find it, that’s the button.

In an attempt to use my new cameras to their fullest use and potential, I will try to post a picture or two every time I blog, just that they’re currently being underused because my DSLR is still missing a camera bag/case and the Fuji Instant Camera is just too bulky to bring bring around sometimes. Plus I’m still not used to the level of dedication that one needs to have in order to take photos, I don’t know how some people can take a gazillion photos a day and have the patience to upload them onto Facebook. I’ve recently bought a disposable camera as well, I’ll see how that one turns out.

On an unrelated note, I’ve learnt a new skill – CYCLING! Yes I’m about 13-14 years late in acquiring this skill and as Shane had loudly pointed out, “Look! Even kids can do it!” at which the 5 year old girl cycling by turned to smirk at me, but hey I’ve finally learned it! The session pretty much went like this:

Shane: PEDAL HARDER! FASTER, FASTER! COME ON, CATCH ME!

Me: *gets confused and panicky by the shouting* Shut up!

Shane: Keep straight! Hang it there! Hang it there! What are you doing, that’s a tree – !

Me: *serves into a tree/lamp post/drain/people walking by*

But after a few, okay more than a few, such incidents, I finally got it! It was so extremely rewarding and so much more effective than Attempt #1 at cycling when the suspiciously pervy Uncle Mahn tried to teach Denise and me (A slice of common sense that we forgot to employ – don’t talk to strange men). I’m totally excited to become an athletic bike enthusiast now! (Okay I hear a few snorts)

Okay now I’ve to tackle the shitload of readings that I have for week 2 of school. My mom used to tell me that university life will be much more relaxed after hardcore studying for 13 years and so I sucked it up through secondary school and JC, but then I forgot that she grew up in Taiwan. I don’t think there will ever be a “relaxed” phase in our lives here if you’re a student in Singapore. Time to suck it up for life.
